Ex uber-liberal Naomi Wolf: Trump is smart!
Once you learned how the regime lies to you, life is full of surprises
For the hopefully few who still need introduction:
Dr. Naomi Wolf, an academically trained specialist in English literature from Yale, a descendant from a Jewish family of whom many were murdered by Nazis, a distinguished member of the Clinton-Gore administration and the Gore Presidential campaign, an avowed feminist, a Journalist … was thoroughly woken up by the mRNA pseudo “vaccine” horrors especially endangering (pregnant) women and thus kind of “red-pilled”.
During a recent acute, life-threatening health crisis she promised (the world, or maybe mostly herself) she would from now on write openly about what her inner self feared most to discuss. Surely this decision was based on her previous experience of having to leave behind the safe haven of the liberal world view of the coastal elite to which she belonged, through education, career and cultural connections.
This woman is prepared to scrutinize just about everything in her world view, political convictions, perceptions, interpretations, life style, social circles … and she writes about it in an intriguing mix of political analysis and literary ambition, and no doubt there’s abundant talent in both disciplines.
That is all remarkable at least, interesting, touching and encouraging.
The latest of Dr. Wolf’s revealing and self-critical substack essays (HERE) shows how far the bridge actually is that she is willing to cross, or at least in the process of crossing. Somehow, she seems to be reluctant to go the full length, even though she has long abandoned her former tribe.
I’m much impressed by her journey, politically, culturally, spiritually … and yet I cannot help being amazed … astounded … by what she relates as surprising insights and remaining obstacles for her transition into what might be called … very casually and with a big portion of irony … as “Trump world”. Not meaning some kind of a fan club for the person, rather a broad populist groundswell movement of American re-awakening, a freedom-loving common sense without narrowly conservative confinements.
(Because MAGA aka “America first” is not really a conservative endeavor, rather a slightly conservative-leaning regaining of national actual self-government, taking power and control over everybody’s life back from the globalist establishment and crazy ideologues.)
Do read Naomi Wolf’s piece for yourself, I’m not going to relate the whole story. My aim is just to hint at a few shortcomings, as I perceive them, in order to pursue a healthy and constructive dialogue. From a position … as should be clear by my previous remarks … of warmhearted sympathy sprinkled with admiration.
A psy-op … with “scripted” proof of incompetence?
Dr. Wolf frames her piece with the latest indictment of #45 and a dozen or so of his co-fighters for election integrity, by the corrupt and ridiculously incompetent Atlanta DA, as another brick in the Banana Republic wall the regime is trying to capture the populist opposition with. (Not exactly her words, but close enough in basic understanding, and that alone is breathtaking considering where she comes from.)
She then reminds us of the bizarre scene when the current WH occupant impatiently checked his watch while waiting for dead US soldiers coming home at the military airport, and refers to the frequent “word salads” produced by the VP.
Claiming that such displays of indecent and incompetent behavior, unworthy of the offices, are “scripted”, and part of a “psychological war”.
Frankly, I don’t quite understand the notion. Are we supposed to imagine someone telling corrupt creepy Joe beforehand to please check his watch again and again, while standing on the tarmac during what ought to be a solemn, dignified occasion? And would we believe that Biden is even able to follow such instructions closely enough?
Similarly, how could the sense-lacking monologues of Mrs. Harris be prepared as such? It looks like she’s trying to be casual, departing from her actual scripts, extemporizing from the top of her head. Maybe, she’s being encouraged by her handlers to try this, but then the performance still depends on her actual inability to speak coherently, which infers some strange kind of authenticity, within the utter inauthenticity of her whole persona.
Not saying that Naomi isn’t on to something that is real.
Obviously, neither Biden nor Harris are really in charge. This is imho the 3rd actual Obama term, with his people directing the whole operation from key positions. While Obama may not be the actual supreme master of the game either, just an intermediate for a bunch of powers that draw the puppet strings. Without there being 1 master, rather a cabal ranging from “official” globalist entities through corporatist, tech, media institutions down to the inglorious “deep state” rogue actors.
But the actual examples of watch-checking Joe and stuttering Kamala are not quite convincing. They do somehow stand exemplarily for the decline of the WH … and by extension the country … to a pathetic place. Yet the actual mechanisms in play need more fleshing out.

Welcome to another America, almost a Dream
The main part of Dr. Wolf’s essay describes her visit to Donald Trump’s Bedminster, NJ estate, where she stayed overnight with her husband, participating on the 2nd day at an award-giving ceremony from mostly Zionist Jewish organizations to #45 and experiencing the President with a lengthy speech from very close distance.
She goes out of her way to describe the sheer beauty of the whole site, embodying no less than a glorious vision of America from roughly a century ago, rather classical in style and thoroughly tasteful. Which at last entirely uprooted the framing … planted into her mind over many years by relentless mainstream indoctrination … that Trump was a vulgar, tasteless parvenue who cannot possibly be allowed into the club governing the country.
Not her only surprise.
“I was surprised to see that it was this ultra-Jewish community that so passionately welcomed this President — a man so often depicted as racist, a white supremacist, and so on.”
“I was surprised too to see how comfortable President Trump seemed, surrounded by Hebrew prayers, by rabbis in felt hats, by an award that evoked the decorations around Torah scrolls. He seemed extremely familiar with this community, and very much at home.”
Well, consider ME surprised. Has Naomi Wolf hidden under some rock between 2016 and 2020? Did she, as a proud Jewish person with broad political and historical background, not know what #45 did for Israel? Installing the US embassy in Jerusalem, bringing peace to the Middle East?
Has she not learned that Trump’s daughter Ivanka has married an orthodox Jew, converted herself and is apparently living a “kosher” life with her man and kids? Why would her father, who is being blamed by many on the GOP / evangelical fringe for being far too tolerant culturally, not feel “at home” with the Zionist Jews?
Choose 1 out of 100 publicly available speeches
On to the next surprising surprise, relating the President’s speech:
“… he struck me as being much smarter in person, than he appeared to be in public events, as they were filtered through the national media. For over an hour, he spoke, departing from notes, often in long, detailed, extemporaneous riffs.
His intelligence struck me as being strongest in perceptiveness and intuition, as many successful businessmen’s and women’s intelligences are, as opposed to being detail-oriented, or theoretically analytical. In other words, like other effective business leaders, he grasped both the essence of, and the leverage points in, a conflict or a predicament, quickly and accurately, and acted accordingly with decisiveness.”
Duh. Trump is in fact not really stupid.
While the second part of Dr. Wolf’s assessment is indeed brilliant, and probably at least as insightful as any such description I’ve read so far, I’m stunned by the first.
Because there not only is no need to rely on “national media” coverage about DJT; at least starting from when you get aware with the China virus scam from 2020 onwards how you’re being lied to by the corporate media 24/7 … you ought to look out for authentic sources with other topics, too. Or so it seems to me. Call me naive.
Now you don’t have to watch each and everyone of Trump’s frequent rally speeches on his own internet channels of via alternative media such as Newsmax or RSBN, which I have done for many dozens of times by now. Yeah, guilty as charged. I’m addicted.
But what Naomi describes, how #45 speaks and acts and positions himself on the big political stage at this particular Bedminster event, is exactly how he does it every time. While there is much variation in between such appearances, the general pattern, reflecting the authentic person, remains constant.
Of course I am utterly envious of Dr. Wolf for having been invited and experienced the man from up close, but even from having watched #45 “only” on my TV screen from abroad, I could have given nearly the exact same description of his performances. I do wonder how one can be surprised by what seems so obvious for dozens of millions of American citizens and what is by no means a secret insider knowledge.
The “women” issue …
While Naomi is learning and fully acknowledging … and kudos for that … that Donald Trump the real man is entirely different from the caricature propagated by the machine as an object of hate and disgust, she still has big caveats. Standing in the way of more fully embracing the man and his agenda.
»One issue is the “woman issue.” When President Trump mentioned
Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, he said something offhandedly, and without presenting evidence, such as, “She doesn’t know anything.”
In his dismissive tone, he sounded to many women, [like a guy]
who will never ever ever treat women, and especially not young women, meritocratically.
It felt old-school, and not in a good way.«
Maybe her strongly felt feminist identity shows here. Let me be blunt:
AOC actually is an utterly stupid, ignorant tool who will blubber mindlessly on any SM platform in the most embarrassing manner. She is a liar and a fraud, and happy to help destroy the nation as we knew it, and the most prominent face of the “young liberal … well, communist … guard”, or however you’re inclined to call the bunch.
Also, in loosely related news, she is a woman. To imply though that Trump is speaking dismissively about her because she is a woman, and a young inexperienced one, is fairly absurd. He’s talking the same way about elderly women, such as Nancy Pelosi, or formerly Hillary Clinton. And he’s absolutely talking the same way about men, e.g. corrupt China Joe, Adam Schiff, Mitch McConnell, his current DOJ prosecutor Jack Smith and many more. He calls them “sick and deranged”, for instance.
All of them fully deserve it, on an individual level, regardless of their sex, gender, age or color. And btw, “she doesn’t know anything” is about as lame and harmless as it gets when DJT is exposing somebody publicly. In Trump lingo about foolish or rogue actors that’s barely 3, let alone 4 out of 10.
A strong guy doesn’t need sycophants
In between, Naomi Wolf asserts that, according to her experience,
“candidates are surrounded by yes-men and yes-women, who want to pretend
to the Principal that there is no problem with that person’s persona or with the public perception of that person”
While that is certainly true as a general rule of thumb, there are at least meaningful gradations from top-politician to top-politician. Some have a reputation for seeing any kind of criticism as disloyal and not tolerating such “misbehavior” in their staff, and relying on a very close circle of total sycophants because their supposedly big ego is in fact very fragile and needing reassurance from others all day and night.
Others are actively seeking out competent people who can help bring the whole operation to higher levels. Trump in particular seems almost too tolerant, seeking cooperation with and support from a wide field of possible allies.
Also, the man is constantly showing high levels of self-awareness, including a strong inclination to self-deprecating humor, and publicly, too. In rally speeches.
And with regards to the subject Dr. Wolf is bringing up in this context, the need
“to win over the female suburban swing voters in battleground states, without which no candidate can win the Presidency”
… #45 is totally aware of the subject, repeatedly speaking about the “suburban women” he supposedly alienates with his “mean tweets”. In his view, those women care mostly about a number of “hard” subject matters, like economical well-being, safety from crime in the neighborhood, good education, a world living in peace instead of sending the nation’s youth into foreign wars.
That is not to say that nothing more needs to be done or contemplated strategically, but surely Trump is aware of the issue and dealing with it actively, not ignoring or denying it, or shielded from it by a sycophantic entourage.
And here’s another hint with regards to groups of voters: While the “suburban women” are surely a demographic to ponder, things have shifted. The Trump coalition … that no other GOP candidate could match … includes rapidly increasing numbers of younger working class people, not least with “minority” background. To cultivate a narrow focus on a certain class of pearl-clutching “suburban women” would be a mistake. They are important, but not exclusively.
(Also, as polls are showing, DJT is doing better with such women than e.g. the FL governor. Being basically moderate about abortion, not an extremist, surely helps. Also, standing up against creepy transgender activism or CRT in schools. I guess “mama bears” resonate with his clear positions.)
The planet is not “boiling” … even barely sweating
The best is yet to come, dear reader. Or rather, the biggest cause of raised eye brows on my part while reading:
The second issue on which President Trump needs a better message than the one I heard, is regarding the environment. He made a disparaging joke about liberals buying up oceanfront properties, and implied that, hence, global warming is not a serious concern. […] I knew that this message would not do well outside of private walls.
The second reason I could in the past never vote for President Trump (or for Republicans in general), was due to this sort of casual disregard for the real trouble, however you may define that trouble, in which our planet finds itself.
… he needs to signal that he is actually serious about fighting environmental degradation, if he is to, first of all, sound consistently like a serious person …
Where to start? So many misunderstandings lumped together … the topic deserving of a full essay on its own, here come my critical hints in short:
It actually is absurd that the same elite folks who claim that ocean levels will rise sharply due to “man-made climate change”, or something, do buy such real estate. Just as it is hypocritical and absurd that they fly around the world in private jets, let alone vacate on huge yachts in the Mediterranean or Caribbean, while they want to take away Average Joe’s combustion engine car and gas stove.
And yes, the message resonates well out there in public, with a majority of the people, outside of the indoctrinated liberal bubble that Dr. Wolf has mostly left behind at this point.
Because the whole climate thing is a giant scam. It’s not just exaggerated, it’s not just about policy measures out of proportion and common sense. It is exactly NOT a “casual disregard for the real trouble”, but a warranted ridicule of an ideologically based, very UNREAL pseudo trouble.
Our planet does face a lot of problems, but “too much CO2” is not among it, let alone “man-made CO2”. To the contrary, CO2 makes the planet green and facilitates agriculture in places previously not supporting it. As “greenpeace” co-founder Dr. Patrick Moore has made abundantly clear, and based on actually scientific analysis.
Also, Naomi Wolf might want to check out what prominent, highly educated and competent folks like Judith Curry, Steve Koonin, Alex Epstein, Michael Shellenberger or even very mainstream Bjorn Lomborg are telling the public, partly supported even by super-mainstream Dr. Jordan Peterson.
Donald Trump is emphasizing all the time how he supports the real fight e.g. for clear water and clear air, or safe living conditions for animals like whales on the US East Coast or birds all over the country being increasingly decimated by wind turbines.
The whole idea that #45 doesn’t care about “the environment” because he has consistently exposed the climate agitprop for the scam that it actually is … is just factually wrong. One can argue about details and not every moderate who is somewhat scared by the burning of so much “fossil fuel” is necessarily stupid or a bad person, obviously.
But DJT isn’t saying as much in the first place. With the way he is talking about the “climate” he is actually much nearer to actual science, critical thinking and real-world problems than 90%, at least, of the grifting “net zero” apologetics.
I’m not saying that the “messaging” couldn’t be somehow fine-tuned further. Maybe the topic does warrant more in-depth debate than a casual remark, in order to enlighten more people about the reality.
Which includes a globalist elite that abuses the climate scam as a fully fraudulent pretext for complete control over the entirety of peoples on the planet just as they did with the China virus scam. A power grab like never seen before.
I wonder how it is possible that Dr. Wolf is fully seeing the latter scam for what it is, and the life-threatening dangers entailed, but appears to still somehow fall prey to the former. Hopefully I’m misunderstanding her criticism.
LOVE for the country, ACTUALLY
Again, all of my hints are not meant to insult Naomi Wolf or to taint her reputation in any way, shape or form. I could easily and with joy have written much more about the very fine points she is making, many of which are more enlightened than what 90% of the random RINO GOP type might come up with.
Also, I’m not demanding that everybody must become a card-carrying member of a DJT fan club. Everybody supporting him over the corrupt regime but still being somewhat uncomfortable with some particulars is welcome to the broad America first coalition that needs to rescue the country and by extension the Western Civilization, no less.
At the same time though, and in an outspoken yet friendly / constructive tone, I wish to clarify some important issues brought up in Dr. Wolf’s essay where I believe Naomi is mistaken, to some degree. I mean, why would she stop at exactly this point of her journey, right? [Smiley / winking face]
I’ll close with the beautiful last paragraphs from her essay, again prompting you to go there and read all of it. Voilà:
“… President Trump’s life choices. He was leaving one beautiful, profitable property, to go, no doubt, to another; he had a beautiful wife and young family at home.
He was 77 years old.
And yet he was running for re-election, with all of the rigors that that entailed; with the risk, now a certainty, of legal challenges, if not worse. If he had just faded into obscurity as a private citizen, for sure he would not be facing a Grand Jury indictment, as he is right now.
So I wondered […] : why is he doing this?
As he often notes himself — he has a great life, and he does not need to run again.
And I could not help, though it was against every conditioned reflex of many years, considering:
Maybe he is doing this because he loves his country.”
Thank you for the constructive criticism! Duly noted. And thank you also for the kind words.
Forging new alliances are the lifeblood of the populist movement…thanks Mr. M…
